Weddings in Oxford…
That’s what this year has all been about for me. Not just photographing them, but researching and digging deeper to discover about what’s on offer in this area. I’ve been seeking alternative venues, and amazing suppliers to write about in this blog and share with you, my readers. At the bottom of this post I’m sharing my six favourite and most popular blog posts, but before I do that, I thought I’d share a little of why this blog was born.
The Oxford Wedding Blog
I set up the blog earlier this year because when I got married I found it quite a challenge to find wedding suppliers in Oxfordshire who I loved, especially the venue. Alternative weddings happen a lot in Oxfordshire, but we had to dig quite deep to find them. The only thing Google was offering us was la-di-da traditional venues and chairs with bows. If you love this sort of thing that is totally cool, but this was the total opposite of what I was looking for.
Our wedding ended up being everything we dreamed up and more, and all the researching paid off. You can take a peek here: OXFORDSHIRE WEDDING FESTIVAL. The majority of our discoveries came our way via word of mouth. So with no immediate go-to place for the slightly alternative Oxford couple, this blog – The Oxford Wedding Blog was born!
I go to so many weddings as a photographer, so this is now the place I share all the ace ideas and inspiration that I come across, that I know you guys will love. I’m constantly seeking hidden gems in Oxfordshire and when I do, they all get shared here. This blog is for anyone planning their wedding in Oxford or Oxfordshire, looking for inspiration on how to plan a relaxed, informal wedding, which may possibly be seen as a little different.
POPULAR WEDDING BLOG POSTS
Here are the the five most popular posts, and the ones I think you may find most useful if you’ve just got engaged.
WEDDINGS IN OXFORD – TEN ALTERNATIVE VENUES
In this blog post I share ten of my favourite alternative wedding venues that I’ve come across in Oxfordshire.
WEDDINGS IN OXFORD – OXFORD CITY VENUES
Another blog post talking about wedding venues. In this blog I share places to either get married, or have your reception in Oxford City.
WEDDINGS IN OXFORD – THE PERCH
I share a whole wedding from start to finish in the post. The couple got married at the Bodleian and had their reception at The Perch Pub – travelling there via the river Thames. There are lots of great ideas in the post if you are planning on getting married here.
WEDDINGS IN OXFORD – BODLEIAN LIBRARY
This blog post will show you what weddings at the Bodleian Library in central Oxford can look like. It’s an amazing venue, and very popular for those who want a grander ceremony followed by a more relaxed reception.
WEDDINGS IN OXFORD – QUIRKY TOWN HALL WEDDING
A little taste from a very small, intimate wedding at the town hall in Oxford. Oxford’s town hall can be used just for the ceremony if you wanted to move on somewhere else afterwards or for the reception as well.
I’m all about sharing the Oxford love and so in 2019 I will be creating a kick ass suppliers list, so if you are, or if you know of a suppler who you think my readers would love, please don’t be shy and please do get in touch.
I hope you find this round up post useful and inspiring to use in your wedding planning.
Have a fantastic end to 2018 and I’ll see you next year xxxx
