I’m always on the look out for alternative wedding venue Oxfordshire, and on first sight I wan’t sure if The Manor Country House was a venue that you, my readers, would be excited about. And so the only way to find out was to go and meet the team to find out more.
WHAT MAKES THE MANOR COUNTRY HOUSE DIFFERENT?
The Manor is a rustic country house and not as traditional or formal as I first thought. On chatting with Marlene and Michael, they told me how flexible they are at The Manor and what they do to help their clients have the wedding they want. I think they are one of the most flexible venue’s I’ve come across.
So firstly, The Manor is a blank canvas, they pride themselves on setting the scene for your wedding day, what ever that might look like. They have the ability to do almost anything and get excited to hear new visions and ideas from new couples. They host massive weddings up to 300-400 guests, and they have also held super small intimate weddings of just a few. You can rent the entire house for the whole weekend if you want or just for half a day.
What I love about this venue is that you can get married inside, or outside in their stunning secret garden, legally. For me there aren’t many alternative places close to Oxford that you can do this (without it being a humanist wedding) so this is a massive plus. Oh and I almost forgot to mention… they have an outdoor swimming pool!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!
The manor is just a part of it, the land is massive too, so if you wanted a festival wedding (as you know, I’m a big fan of festival weddings – check out my own Oxfordshire Festival Wedding here) you can glamp on their grounds, have fire pits, and have as many guests as you want. They are open to discussions for almost anything and everything. They also have the most incredible chefs and offer the most adventurous vegan menu.
The place is very soulful and very much part of the community, they run art workshops and food and drinks festivals, and they also hold retreats.
