Oxford City Wedding

Oxford City Wedding

This intimate Oxford City Wedding began at The Store, where the family of four began their preparations among kids giggling, makeup brushes, and the hum of excitement just before everything begins.

The ceremony only included close family and took place at the Oxford Registry Office on Tidmarsh Lane, inside the Dexter Room. It’s a space that balances elegance and intimacy. Once the papers were signed and the confetti thrown, everyone headed to the pub.

From Ceremony to Celebration

The wedding continued at The Oxford Blue pub on Cowley Road where they were greeted by a larger crowd of friends and family. Pub weddings always bring a certain kind of magic, I love how relaxed, loud in the best way, and deeply personal they can be.

Food came straight from the pub kitchen, served in generous helpings and paired with local ales. There was laughter, clinking glasses, and the occasional squeal of joy! The kids were entertained with board games and a Face Painter while the adults got ready for the dance floor.

Style and Details

The bride wore Spell and the Gypsy Collective, effortlessly romantic, paired with LK Bennett shoes. The groom looked sharp in a Moss Bros suit and Loake shoes. Their wedding rings were crafted by Eco Wood Rings, beautifully simple and sustainable.

Hair was styled by Lottie, an independent stylist trained at Brothers Aveda on Oxford’s High Street, and makeup was by Anna Jones Bridal — both Oxford locals. Their cake came from Barefoot Bakery, naturally, because Oxford couples know where to find the good stuff.

Every detail felt intentional without being fussy, a massive reflection of the couple themselves.

Why I Love Photographing Oxford City Weddings

As a photographer, I love an Oxford City Wedding especially when weddings unfold within Oxford’s rhythm. One moment you’re inside a centuries-old building, the next you’re crossing the street past a busker and a stack of bicycles!
