All James and Maisy wanted for their wedding day was to be with everyone they love, and have a super relaxed day. They met at a music festival on Cowley Road in Oxford, and Maisy knew he was a keeper as when they got talking James revealed he had just read How to be a Woman by Caitlin Moran. There are so many wonderful details at this wedding… take a peek below for more…
WEDDING CEREMONY AT THE BODLEIAN LIBRARY
They got married at the Bodleian Library in Oxford city centre,
A CITY WALK WITH YOUR WEDDING GUESTS
There is nothing more magical than walking through the street of Oxford with your hundreds or so guests… Everyone following each other on a kind of tour of the great city. Guests chatting and catching up, heals being taken off, and sharing brollies as it decided to rain on this particular day.
A BOAT RIDE UP TO THE PERCH
Everyone walked to the riverside to get on a boat which then took them up to The Perch. This is such a lovely way to arrive, guests get a real chance to be together and mingle…
THE PERCH OXFORD
Arriving at the perch is one of the magical entrances ever… once you get off the boat you and your guests are greeted by staff from The Perch with champaign and then you make your way down the cutest fairy lite path straight to the pub… you must experience this entrance if you ever visit the perch!! James and Maisy were then greeted by a line of confetti from their guests which was great fun. These guys are massive book worms and so turned their love for books into favours for their wedding guest… they created a little library of books and asked guests to help themselves which I though was such a fantastic idea. They also had ‘CULTURE VULTURE’ printed pieces of paper, encouraging guests to share their favourite books, tv programme, podcasts etc with them. I loved this idea so much I used it at my wedding. It’s great inspiration for you, and the guests love it as they talk and share their favoured culture things…
