I caught up with Victoria from Manor Farm Barn Oxfordshire to find out what makes this historic barn such a brilliant place to get married.
What’s the story behind Manor Farm Barn Oxfordshire?
Manor Farm Barn dates back to around 1592 and was originally used to store tithe from the surrounding farms. In 2002 the Benfield family renovated the building so their daughter (Victoria!) could have her wedding there a couple of years later.
That wedding sparked the idea of turning the barn into a proper wedding venue. It took a few more years to get everything in place, but the vision finally became a reality.
What makes Manor Farm Barn Oxfordshire a great wedding venue?
Manor Farm Barn is a family-run wedding venue, and the whole team is passionate about making each wedding personal and unforgettable.
Because they don’t book weddings on consecutive days, each couple gets plenty of time to decorate the barn and make it their own. There’s also a gorgeous walled garden which is perfect for the drinks reception and photos. With the Manor House as the backdrop, it’s an incredibly beautiful space.
Victoria supports every couple throughout the whole planning process. She helps with decisions in the lead-up to the big day, and she’s there on the day itself to make sure everything runs smoothly.

1. Choose people you feel comfortable with
You should feel at ease with the venue team, especially the person coordinating your wedding. At Manor Farm Barn, couples get to know Victoria well, and the relationship becomes a big part of the experience.
Make sure you know who your point of contact is and whether they’ll be there on the day.
2. Think about location
If lots of your guests are travelling, look into nearby accommodation. Manor Farm Barn is only a short taxi ride from lots of great places to stay.
3. Look for a flexible venue
Couples often change their plans as the wedding approaches. A flexible venue makes this much easier. Manor Farm Barn adapts to last-minute changes, both before the day and on the day itself.
4. Choose a venue that gives you time to set up
Venues that offer access the day before make the experience much more relaxed. You can decorate and get everything ready without the stress of rushing on the morning of your wedding.
5. Check for wet-weather photo options
If it rains, it helps to have somewhere sheltered for photos. Manor Farm Barn has a hay barn that couples love using on rainy days.
