A Wedding at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has to be one of the most unique wedding venues I’ve ever photographed. It’s part museum, part art gallery, and it’s beautiful. Cristina and Nicholas are a classic modern love story – they met online, and after a Tokyo skyline proposal, they planned a wedding day that was all about good food, music, and their favourite people. This wedding has everything I love: incredible venue, people laughing, good food and a live sax on the dance floor!

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the European Art Gallery, surrounded by Old Master paintings and soft light. It’s one of those spaces that doesn’t need any extra decoration — it already feels like stepping into a film set. The couple exchanged their vows surrounded by art and history.

Portraits

The couple didn’t want to spend time on portraits, their guests had travelled from all over, and what really mattered was spending time with them. So we worked fast, kept it relaxed, and managed to create a little bit of magic in just a few minutes.

The Wedding Breakfast

After the ceremony, everyone made their way upstairs to the Rooftop Dining Room and Terrace for the wedding breakfast. It’s one of Oxford’s best-kept secrets, flooded with natural light in the daytime, and glowing with city lights after dark. The catering was by Benugo Events, who always bring something extra to the table (literally). Beautifully presented, locally sourced, and full of flavour, their food is the kind that people actually remember.

The Party

Once the formalities were done, the live sax kicked in and the dance floor filled instantly.
