Port Meadow is not only Pippa and George’s most favourite place in the world, but it’s also home of the amazing pub The Perch. I’ve shot many weddings at The Perch and it’s still one of my favourite Oxford wedding venues, massively due to it’s super relaxed vibe.
Pippa and George fell in love The Perch mainly for it’s casual approach, the prettiness of it, and the fact it was right next to the river and in Port Meadow. The Perch Oxford is famous for it’s sharing platters at weddings, and this just adds to the casual vibe; everyone sharing a feast, passing dishes, cutting up and passing plates… it’s such a great experience.
Pippa and George really didn’t want many traditional wedding trimmings and so they hired a magician, a variety of small retro fairground games and they decided to ditch the dance floor and replaced it with punting on the river! Yes I know! Punting instead of dancing! I’ve never seen or heard of a punt off at a wedding before, but it was so so much fun. All their guests absolutely loved it, there was so much laughter.
